Short Bio: Whenever Julie is not writing her books, she often travels the country hosting workshops on Telling YOUR Story and Storytelling as Activism, helping others create their narratives. Julie loves to travel, having had the great fortune of living in London during high school and has traveled throughout much of the US, recently exploring Alaska and Hawaii! She currently lives in Minnesota, with her family.

Long Bio:Julie Schanke Lyford is the award-winning author of Katy Has Two Grampas, the bestselling book about growing up in a diverse family, and the soon-to-be-published book Adi’s Animal Adventures, a story featuring a middle schooler who introduces readers to lots of fun animals in their school. A lifelong activist, Julie couples her degrees in theater and communications with her passion for public speaking to stand up for the rights of others. When she is not writing or presenting, Julie loves to travel, having had the great fortune of living and traveling throughout much of the US and Europe. She also loves to spend time with her family, watching movies and going to live theater. 

Julie lives in West Saint Paul, MN, with her husband Rafe, kiddos Katy and Adien, and their rescue dog, Wallace.
